Bon Voage!

Tomorrow we leave for our summer vacations. Yeah, vacations with an "s". John is going to Scout Camp and the kids and I are going to Newport Beach in California with my parents. It is going to be a lot of fun, we just wish that John will be coming. Oh, well maybe next time. John is a dedicated Scouter - not really he is bummed he can't go and already committed back in January that he would go to receive his wood badge training. Happy Summer!

Rollin' time

Jason rolled all the way over today, by himself (no help from his sister). He got stuck and could not get back over and then he cried. Congratulations Jason.

Yard day at the in-laws!

I posted a lot of things from the last week, please read for a good laugh. To appolize to my loyal readers I only have time on Sundays to update the blog. Boy, these things can be addicting.

Yesterday was quite a fun day (I am being serious). We had yard day at the in-laws. Each year we (John's family) help get Papa's yard ready for Memorial day barbie-Q (can't spell). Here are some of the highlight from the day.

Yes, this is the love of my life. I just happen to capture a silly moment between daddy and Emmie. I sure laughed really hard at this picture.
Jason was trying to wiggle out of his chair. He was so good all day and I was able to actually help out.

Here is a rare moment for Emmie that she is being sweet without me asking her to be. She was taking a break from sweeping the cement.

Will is helping out cleaning the chairs.

Here is Emmie and Ryann playing in the sand box. Don't let them fool you, they are not as sweet as they look. I am sure that they are plotting something, even as I am typing this or as you are reading this.

He is a early learner, of course mom would say this, but look at him. John let Jason hold his pop for him. I spoiled all of the fun when I told John not to feed him any. Gall, can you believe such a thing?

Emmie cheezing it up for the camera.

Here is Will helping out Dad and Uncle Chris fixing the front porch deck.

Just a cool picture..

Here is John at his best...

Gerber Baby!

This was Uncle Kjell's shirt when he was little. Emmie is a cute Gerber Baby.

Sweet Baby Kjell!

Emmie got a new baby doll on Friday. She named it Kjell (that is my 20 year old brother's name). Yeah, Emmie is silly. John kept telling Emmie things like "Kjell needs a new diaper. Kjell is hungry. Kjell is crying." She came up with her name all on her own.

Show'n'tell

"Boy" show'n'tell is on Wednesday. For the last show'n'tell of the year Will decided to take the instruction manual for his bunk bed. He thought that it would be a great idea so that he could show his friends a picture of his new bed that we got last week. Will is a funny little kid. He is always making us laugh.

Happy Grad!

William graduated from Preschool on Thursday. The first year of preschool was great for him and me and sister. We all had a great time. It was really good for Emmie and Will to have a break from each other and for mom to have a break from the occasional fighting. Will had a program which me, Emmie, and Jason went and watch Will sit in his chair while his classmate sang all of the songs. It was kind of funny to see Will sit in the corner just yawning durning all of the songs. He is really shy in front of his class when the spot light is on him. But he is not as shy as John or I when we were his age - Will will go up to anyone including adults and talk to them. I am still struggling with that. We love you Will, great job for your first year at Preschool.

Last Sunday our family went up Provo Canyon to see John's job. He is working with my dad and Kjell on the Deer Creek Dam Overflow. They are reinforcing the structure to make it earthquake proof. The project should be finished in another month or two. John has enjoyed working close to home with a short commute. The weather this past winter has been really hard for John. During January and February it was extremely cold and it snowed a lot. I have John find a picture of all the snow.
This is the Little Giant ladder that John climbs many times durning the day. It would scare me to death to climb once. John is amazing.

animal farm, high chairs, food, and fishing

Will had a field trip with his preschool class to the animal farm at Thanksgiving Point on Thursday. I was able to go with his class and help maintain order among 17 three and four year olds. We had a great time. To no ones surprise Will was more interested in the watering hoses than the turkeys and rabbits. The picture above is Will with his preschool buddies Bryon and Josh on a horse-drawn wagon. Will and I had a nice time spending time one-on -one with each other.
Our high chair can move up and down (it's amazing). One day I slid it down as far and it would go and Emmie played with Jason for more than a half hour while I did some house work. It was wonderful. Jason got to play Barbies with his sister. I am sure that he had a great time, Emmie did. Will and Emmie are awesome with Jason. They are big helpers and keep him entertained. Occasionally they fight over him and yell at each other "No, my baby." But in the end we have a happy family.

One night this past week or so we ate green and pink pancakes for dinner. Everyone should try it, just a little food coloring in the batter. It works wonders and the kids love it. Just make sure you use the pizza cutter for your colored pancakes too.

Will and Jason both got hair cuts -or should I say a buzz. It doesn't matter what kind of hair they have they still are cute as ever. Think they are brothers or what?

John took Will fishing to Strawberry with Uncle Brandan and Cole. This was the first time that Will got to go on a "boy" fishing trip. Luck him. Here is Will's fish that he caught. Dad had to help him reel it in but he did the rest by himself. Will had so much fun and completely wore himself out. He had two naps and still went to bed by 9:00. John is an awesome dad. I think that John was just as excited as Will was.

Is that a Rescue Center?

We bought a used swing set with a fort on KSL. The kids have loved it. Will and Emmie have been playing that it is a Rescue Center (Diego the Animal Rescuers house). Yea, its been so much fun. On Saturday John and my Dad got a forklift from work to move it, they didn't want to take it a part. It has a slide and three swings, perfect right? - No fighting. Emmie has already fallen off, but she was fine. She told me that it just hurt her feelings. I am so excited to finally have a fun swing set for the kids. Happy Summer!

If you throw a Happy Meal out the window...

Will learned about Earth Day at preschool and the importance of recycling and not polluting. He got home from school and said, "Mom, if you throw a Happy Meal out the window that's polluting." It just sounded so cute.
