Soren's first birthday!

Soren turned one years old on September 4th. We celebrated his birthday while we were at Disneyland, but celebrated again with the Gerber side.

Soren is so funny. He is such a stinker and so strong. He is starting to take his first steps. He is so wiggly and a pain in the butt to have his diaper changed. Half the time when John gets home from work Soren has no pants on because it is just to hard to wrestle with him. Most of the time it is a two person job to get him dressed. He has ripped the decorative wood thing off the back of the changing table and we always seem to get poop on the cute changing pad. Seriously he is a monster to get changed, oh but we love him.

Greatest Place On Earth

Last week we went to Disneyland. Like they say it was "the greatest place on earth." We had so much fun and can't wait to do it again. We left on a Wednesday and stayed in Primm, Nevada (40 minutes South from Las Vegas). The next day we got to Disneyland at 10:30 and stayed until we could check into our hotel and then went back that evening. The next day we went California Adventure all day and packed our lunch. At dinner we went back to our hotel and made quesadillas. We saw the World of Color Friday night. It was so awesome at totally worth the hour wait. The only bad thing was that the kids fell asleep and we piled them in the stroller. We put Will, Emmie and Soren in the stroller and took turns carrying Jason on our 35 minute walk back to the hotel. On Saturday we took it easy and rode the shuttle bus to Disneyland. The kids totally loved everything. They were so wonderful, such a joy to go with our family. On Saturday we met Amy, Cassie, Mandie, Chelsie, and Papa and Nana at the Main Gate. Amy and I went to the Expo to get our bid numbers for the half marathon race, which was Sunday morning.

I'll have to post pictures later. The race was totally awesome and so inspiring. There was over 15,000 people lined up for the race. The race time was 6:00 am but we didn't make it through the gate until 6:35 and we had to be at the start at 5:15. It was totally insane. When we were running I was amazed at the different size and shape of everyone running. There was some totally out of shape people and some amazingly fit people. The people were so inspiring and everyone had their own reasons for running and goals to achieve. Well I finished in three hours. It was hard, but I did it and I will do another one someday. Hopefully someday soon. I need to improve my time. My legs were so tired just to start, from walking around Disneyland for three days before. Oh but, the experience was wonderful and I wouldn't have changed anything. It has been five days since the race and I am still recovering.

After the race I walked a mile back to our hotel with Jason and Soren in the stroller while John took the kids to California Adventure and I met up with them two hours later. At 4:00 we made it back to the hotel again and had naps. Went out to eat and went back to Disneyland at 7:30 and stayed until midnight. I have been so tired. On Monday we slept in and made it back home at 10:00 at night. John woke up the next day at 5:00 and went to work. And I put the house back together and got all of the clothes washed and put away so that I could start preschool the next day. It has been a busy two weeks.
